Segments

Both products

What it is for

A segment groups clients by interest using rules (for example, "Qualification is Hot and City is Bogotá"). Clients join and leave automatically based on their data: they are not added by hand.

Segments and lists are not the same

Segments group by interest and are calculated from rules. Lists group by source (an import, a trade show) and are built by hand.

How to get there

Sidebar → Clients → Segments tab · app.growtek.io/en/clients/segments

Also from Clients → Contacts: the + next to Segments in the Views panel creates one, and clicking a segment shows its clients.

The screen in detail

  1. Key metrics: Segments, Custom and System.
  2. Search segment and New segment.
  3. Table with the columns Segment, Type, Rules and Contacts. The type can be System, Custom, Created by AI or To migrate (an old segment, still without rules).

What you can do

Create a dynamic segment

  1. Click New segment.
  2. Type the Name, pick a color and, if you want, a Description.
  3. In Include clients that match … of these conditions choose all or any.
  4. Click Add condition and choose the field, the operator and the values.
  5. Check the preview: it says how many clients join today.
  6. Click Create segment.

You need at least one complete condition to save.

Available fields: Status, Channel, City, Company, Industry, Tags, Customer type (AI), Qualification, Sales rep, Campaign, Source, Has a quotation and Has a deal.

Operators: is any of, is none of, is set, is empty; for tags has any of, has all of, has none of; and is (Yes / No) for Has a quotation and Has a deal.

Change the rules

Open the segment in Clients → Contacts (Views panel) and click Edit rules.

Delete a segment

From the row's Actions menu. The clients are not touched: only the grouping stops existing.

note

System segments cannot be edited or deleted.

Use a segment

  • As a view in Contacts, to work with or export only those clients.
  • The Segments column in the contacts export shows which segments each one belongs to. It is informational: editing it in Excel does nothing. To get someone into a segment, change the tags or the data the rule uses.

Frequently asked questions

I added a client to the segment and they don't appear. Segments are not filled by hand. Check that the client meets the conditions (for example, that they have the tag or the city the rule asks for).

Does the AI create segments? Yes: AI classification can create the ones that are missing; they show with the type Created by AI.
